Has anybody actually seen mind? It is definitely not an organ like the heart or lung… But we know it is there.. all the time…in the form of our thoughts, feelings and emotions. There are different definitions available. Different religions handle mind in different ways but for me it is an invisible muscle, that needs constant attention and regular maintenance. If not, it is going to go out of shape, out of control , filled with grime and unavailable in times of need. The irony is we prioritize so many other things in our life but forget to spend some time taking care of our mind. The reason is, we usually are or claim to be too busy cutting trees without sharpening our axe. To conclude, I urge you to take some time and reflect on how many minutes do we sit down by ourselves and consciously watch our mind. If you have not done it so far, start doing it from today. To begin with 1 minute of watching your mind should be a good start. If your attention wanders, gently come back. Don’t be harsh or judgmental on your self. Its the nature of mind to wander off automatically. It is in you to gently guide it back to the moment.
Guided instructions:
Close your eyes and gently focus on the center of your eyebrows. Tell yourself…
1. Mind where are you?
2. Mind, reveal yourself to me.
3. I want to see you.
Open your eyes gently after a minute.
Do this every day when ever you find time.
